I have missed this space and I am glad to be back. I won't be posting a lot, right away. But I will be posting here and there, as I begin to share this new exciting phase in my life.
Last year I completed my yoga teacher certification and I have been teaching ever since. That addition to my schedule made it hard for me to get back on the blogging wagon.
Lots of changes are happening in the next couple of months, including a cross-country move to the midwest. But I have lots of plans for this blog and I am looking forward to writing in this space again.
I tried out Project Life in 2012 and made it through six months. I am so glad I have that album but I knew that if I was going to take on Project Life again, that I needed to make it work better for me. I have been organizing my digital photos all the way back to 2007 and I plan on putting each year in an album. It's going to take some time but I already finished 2013 and I am currently working on 2014. I hope to share all of what I am doing in the future.
For 2014, I decided to switch to a mostly digital project life album. It just works better for me. And it's much more affordable for my budget. I also decided to do an 8.5 x 11 album instead of 12 x 12. I just don't take that many pictures and I much prefer the smaller size album.
I already have a bunch of digital journaling cards, etc... from my favorite digital designer, Liz at Paislee Press. I purchased Cathy Zielskie's 8.5 x 11 PL templates as well as some other templates from Paislee Press. And that was all I needed to knock out January and start working on February layouts.
I am going to work my PL album per month as opposed to per week. I just don't take enough photos to warrant a weekly round-up and I just don't have the time to spend every weekend working layouts. This is what I love about Project Life. There are so many ways to approach it and you can make it work for you and your schedule.
Here are my January 2014 digital layouts. My plan at this moment is to print them at Persnickety Prints and put them in my 8.5 x 11 We R Memory Keepers album. That way I can include pocket pages with ephemera if I want. I love being able to do both options!!
I created this template in InDesign and it will slide in right behind my cover page. Two of my favorite pictures of my daughters from January.
Opposite the portrait page will be this page, showcasing the other photos from that day. It was a great day hiking with friends. Using the Outdoorsy Journaling Cards from Paislee Press.
Here is another day of hiking we did just as a family in January. Love having these memories recorded! I used the We Journaling Cards from Paislee Press.
Here is a page featuring random shots taken through-out the month of January with my phone. I used Press Plate no. 38 from Paislee Press.
And two more of my favorite pictures of our girls from January. Each getting their own page. I used a template from Blueprints no. 1, a free template kit from Paislee Press..
I am really looking foward to seeing how this year's album turns out and getting caught up with past years.
